OQ Base Industries (OQBI) successfully concluded the third edition of its Hackathon, a flagship innovation initiative designed to empower young talent and develop technology-driven solutions for the Sultanate’s industrial future.
The event was delivered in collaboration with Matterz and key academic partners: Dhofar University, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), and Salalah Vocational College, with strong support from the Governorate of Dhofar.
Over several days, participants tackled real-world challenges in operations, safety, and sustainability, transforming bold ideas into scalable prototypes through guided mentorship and hands-on workshops.
This year’s winning solutions demonstrated exceptional creativity and industrial applicability:
• 1st Place: Safe Crew
• 2nd Place: Vision AI
• 3rd Place: Anticor
The Governor of Dhofar Prize was awarded to Juthoor 4.0.
Through this Hackathon, OQBI reaffirms its commitment to nurturing youth innovation and shaping a smarter, more sustainable industrial ecosystem.
